(Northfield, Ill) Links – North Shore Youth Health Service hosted 170 people at its spring benefit at the Woman’s Club of Wilmette on Saturday, June 15. The supportive crowd celebrated 40 years of Links history and contributed to raising more than $37,000 for the afternoon.
The tables were packed and the conversation was flowing as community members came together to celebrate Links. “We were so honored to have so many people come out to support Links – an organization that has been quietly helping teens and young adults with some of their most intimate questions for 40 years,” said Peggy Orloff of Highland Park, who chaired the event. “It was a fantastic celebration of all the volunteers and staff who have been involved throughout our history!”
State Senator Daniel Biss (9th District), Rep. Elaine Nekritz of Northbrook (57th District), Rep. Laura Fine (17th District) and Rep. Robyn Gabel (18th District) were on hand to present Links with an Illinois House of Representatives Resolution honoring the work of the Northfield-based non-profit. “Walking on Air with Betsy and Sal” radio personalities Betsy Brint and Sally Higginson kept everyone laughing as the emcees.
